Introduction of Corrosion Resistant PE Coated Aluminum Foil

Corrosion-resistant PE-coated aluminum foil is a functional composite material made from high-purity aluminum foil as the base material, with a protective polyethylene (PE) coating applied to its surface through a precision coating process. Designed specifically for industrial applications, this product is widely used as a composite facing layer in PIR (polyisocyanurate) and PUR (polyurethane) insulation boards, pipe insulation materials, and building roof insulation systems. Performance Advantages of Corrosion Resistant PE Coated Aluminum Foil

1. Excellent Corrosion Resistance
The PE coating forms a dense protective barrier on the surface of the aluminum foil, effectively isolating it from moisture, acids, alkalis, and chemical agents, thereby significantly extending the product’s service life in humid or harsh environments. This is the core advantage of coated aluminum foil over standard bare foil in industrial applications.

2. Outstanding Thermal Insulation and Energy-Saving Performance
Aluminum foil inherently possesses high reflectivity (up to 94% or higher) and low thermal emissivity, enabling it to reflect heat back to its source. When used in combination with thermal insulation core materials (PIR/PUR foam), it significantly enhances the overall thermal insulation performance of building envelopes, reducing energy consumption for cooling and heating.

3. Moisture Protection and Water Vapor Barrier
The aluminum foil layer serves as a nearly perfect water vapor barrier. In PIR/PUR insulation boards, PE-coated aluminum foil acts as the facing layer, effectively preventing water vapor from penetrating the foam core and avoiding a decline in thermal insulation performance or structural degradation caused by moisture.

4. Surface Treatments That Combine Aesthetics and Functionality
To meet aesthetic requirements in industrial applications, the product offers a variety of surface treatments:

Embossing: Uniform patterns are imprinted onto the aluminum foil surface using embossing rollers to enhance the material’s texture and rigidity, while also increasing the contact area and peel strength during lamination with the insulation core.

Color Coating: A wide range of colors (such as those in the RAL color chart) can be customized according to customer requirements, meeting both the decorative needs of equipment or buildings and facilitating color-coded identification and management of different piping systems.

Application

PIR/PUR Insulation Boards: Used as surface materials for building exterior walls, cold storage facilities, and roof insulation, providing heat reflection and moisture protection.

Building Roof Insulation: Used in insulation and waterproofing systems for steel structure factories, concrete flat roofs, and pitched roofs. Laid on top of the insulation layer, the high reflectivity of the aluminum foil reflects solar radiation heat back, significantly reducing roof surface temperature and indoor air conditioning load; the PE coating provides additional weather resistance and corrosion resistance, extending the service life of the roof system.

HVAC Duct Insulation: Used as an insulation layer for central air conditioning ducts and ventilation pipes, providing both heat insulation and corrosion protection.

Pipe Insulation: Wraps industrial pipes and hot water pipes, reducing heat loss and preventing corrosion of metal pipes.

Building Insulation Layer: Serves as a reflective layer in wall insulation systems, improving building energy efficiency.
