Introduction

Introduction of 1100 H22 Aluminum coated and embossed foil for thermal insulation boards

1100-H22 coated embossed aluminum foil is specifically designed for the production of insulation panels (such as phenolic/PIR/PUR sandwich panels). Through a dual surface treatment process combining embossing and coating, it enhances the functionality of the pure aluminum substrate, making it an ideal surface material for HVAC and building insulation systems.

Core Processes and Advantages

1. Dual Functional Surface Treatment
Through a combined embossing and coating process, this product meets the requirements for both insulation panel lamination and end-use applications:
Embossing Process: Creates a uniform orange-peel or patterned texture on the surface. Key advantages include enhanced adhesion and increased specific surface area, resulting in a stronger interface bond with phenolic/PIR/PUR foam cores and reduced susceptibility to delamination. Performance Enhancement: Acts as microscopic reinforcing ribs, improving the foil’s tear strength and rigidity while also providing an aesthetic appeal.

The coating process offers options such as PE (polyester) or epoxy resin coatings:
PE Coating: Used as the outer surface, it provides excellent weather resistance, corrosion resistance, and decorative properties.
Epoxy Coating: Can serve as an adhesive layer, significantly enhancing the bond strength between the aluminum foil and the foam core.

2. Balanced Performance of 1100-H22 Base Material

Versatility of Industrial-Grade Pure Aluminum: The 1100 alloy contains ≥99.0% aluminum and offers excellent corrosion resistance and formability.
Balance of the H22 Condition: The H22 condition (partially annealed after work hardening) is a semi-hard condition that maintains good flexibility while ensuring a certain degree of rigidity and strength. It is suitable for processing steps such as embossing, slitting, and lamination, and is resistant to breakage.
Thermal Insulation and Barrier Properties: The aluminum foil substrate itself possesses high reflectivity (effectively reflecting radiant heat) and excellent water vapor barrier properties (with a moisture transmission rate approaching zero), making it essential for thermal insulation panels to achieve energy efficiency and moisture protection.
